Dear AU5K creator,

Hello and thank you for creating for me! I hope you enjoy the exchange. This letter contains the information from my sign-up, some short ramblings on the canons/ships involved, and a handful of prompts. I hope you'll find it helpful, but please don't feel bound to any of it! Mix-and-match, disregard, whatever helps. I'm sure I'll love whatever you come up with!

If you want to see what kind of things I write, find me
on AO3 as Arazsya (make sure to log in as currently all my works are archive-locked).

Also, feel free to stack AUs as you like!

Non-Exhaustive Selection of Likes: whump and hurt/comfort, angst, protectiveness, horror (gothic horror, folk horror, cozy horror, paranormal & supernatural horror, cosmic horror, found footage, just give me your horror tbh), urban fantasy, romance, pining, yearning, loyalty, trapping characters in a small space for them to not talk about their feelings in, trapping characters in a small space until they talk about their feelings, characters talking about their feelings while bleeding, fluff, werewolves, dogs! and also cats! especially remaining unhurt!, hostage situations, characters thinking they are too late, huddling for warmth, only one bed, fake dating, stargazing, found family, hurting one character physically to hurt another character emotionally, made-to-listen (like made-to-watch except more remote, like over the phone, through a door or in a recording, so there's absolutely nothing the character can do about it), made to watch, beautiful setting descriptions, mutual pining, characters presumed dead turning out to not be dead, pathetic fallacy, strandings.

DNWsfirst/second person perspective (except in case of epistolary), infantilisation, lactation, mpreg, non-canon major character death (of canon characters), omegaverse, onscreen animal cruelty, parental death detail, pregnancy, vore, watersports/scat.

Fandom-Specific DNW: Tom Barnaby for Midsomer Murders (brief mentions are fine but I would prefer no extended discussion or appearance).

Midsomer Murders

There is a lot of horror in these freeforms - I just think it suits Midsomer really well. The show is a sneeze away from folk horror at the best of times, and I'd love to see it pushed all the way. Please feel free to include unrequested characters as fic requires! Though my preference is for John Barnaby-era, there are no sergeants or pathologists I don't like.

Have they canonically met? No! Has this stopped them from occupying 80% of my fannish energy over the past two years? No! I think they'd be great together, what with their shared interests in the outside, pub quizzes, and pining, and massive angst potential. Got my standard horror interests and then, I don't know, let them be neighbouring keepers at the fantasy zoo, let one be the Mina to the other's Jonathan, I am always down for werewolves, Wildlife Photographer!Winter and Guide!Nelson, I am here for all of it! :D

Found family is stored in Midsomer! I am very fond of the Barnaby Extended Family - I love the way Barnaby loves his sergeants, at that distance that becomes all too illusory when they're in trouble (first names, used seldom), small moments of care and affection. I love how completely Sarah embraces them, and pushes her husband to - they are her sergeants as much as his, to me. With Winter in particular, he just seems closer to them than any of their other sergeants, and no one is quite ready to call it family (except me), but they still show that it is. I'd love to see horror, yes, and in terms of the other stuff, idk, Barnaby as an Archivist with sergeant assistants, or a Leverage mastermind?

Sherlock & Co

I've really been enjoying this show this year! I love its humour and its ability to stamp on my emotions, I love that bit in the intro where the serious music is going and John says now, a true crime podcaster, I love the dog. All going well at the moment - and I have especially liked the moments when it has leaned towards horror, since I do like my podcasts on the spookier side. Would love to see something that goes all out on that with a setting change, or job slight-realignment (I do feel that they should always be detectives, in as vague a sense as it may be).

It's Them! I've been having a great time listening to their relationship develop, and it has so much warmth and understanding and ahhhh. Please put them somewhere awful and make them hurt. Or possibly a White Collar AU. Or both.

The Magnus Archives

Not got a lot of AUs in the list here, since, well, TMA is a horror canon, so most of my usuals already apply - I would like to see the horror atmosphere and such preserved if possible, though not necessarily the specific TMA powers-verse and such. Feel free to include platonic relationships and such with other characters!

At this point, these two are one of my older ships and. I still love them so much. They suffer very nicely, though I'm not opposed to them having nice things either, maybe a fairytale ending might be deserved at this point. Otherwise, the horrors! But possibly slightly different ones from where we usually see them. And urban fantasy-wise, I'm a big fan of werewolf!Tim, but if something else is calling, I am here, I have popcorn.
